As Head of Social Innovation for the Design Council, Jo leads Transform Ageing, a pioneering design-led approach to improving peoples experience of later life. Based in the South West of England, the programme focuses on people centred innovation and is the cornerstone of the Design Councils Health Social Innovation portfolio. With a diverse background and skillset, Jo has worked at local, regional and national level providing strategic, practical and creative insight, working collaboratively with others in identifying straight forward solutions to complex problems. She has a keen interest in how systems interact with social entrepreneurship and how we can create the right conditions for sparkling ideas to make a real difference to people. With a strong belief in the strategic value of design in tackling complex social challenges, she looks for and welcomes those magical conversations that disrupt the system and lead to positive change.
