The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Biomedical Research Centre and Dementia Unit at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London.
We have a major BioResource project underway in collaboration with the other Biomedical Research Centres-
“Our goal is to collect samples from 50,000 SLaM and King’s Health Partners patients over the next five years. If we can do this, we stand a very good chance of making discoveries that will improve the quality of life for patients.”
Dr. Gerome Breen
Our Biomedical Research Unit for Dementia brings together scientists and clinicians from different disciplines to identify new ways to diagnose, prevent and treat dementia. We want to speed up the time it takes to get better diagnostic tools, treatments and care from the laboratory into the NHS, to benefit patients and carers.
