The Brazelton Centre UK is a charity whose primary goals are to promote an understanding of baby behaviour and development and to foster strong infant-parent relationships during the first 3 months of life.
We run courses for practitioners to learn about baby behaviour in order to support parents, using worldwide recognised tools developed by Dr. Brazelton and colleagues:
Newborn Behavioural Observations (NBO)
Neonatal Behavioural Assessment Scale (NBAS)
The NBAS and NBO are recommended in the Healthy Child Programme 2009 and the National Health Visiting Service Specification 2014/15, 2015/16, NHS England.
Research has shown that mothers feel more confident and fathers become more involved in their baby’s care using the Brazelton approach.
