Grounded in Social Model of Disability values and informed by current Critical Disability research, Spectrum First provide advanced person-centred support and training to remove barriers for Autistic people within education and employment. Working in partnership with Autistic people and organisations who share similar beliefs, they are proud that 40% of their workforce are neurodiversity.
Founded by author Christine Breakey in 2003, the company began supporting a handful of students. Today under Gemma Barstow and Jamie Williams’ directorship, they support over 400 UK-based University students, working particularly closely with 14 institutions across Yorkshire, the Humber, and the North East.
