Prescribing Support Services (PSS) are a clinical pharmacist service provider with over 20 years’ experience in delivering services in partnership with General Practice. Founded by Dr Duncan Petty (founder of PCPA - Primary Care Pharmacist Association) and now led by Duncan alongside PSS owners McKesson UK.
PSS work in partnership with PCNs to find, recruit, induct and support pharmacists to deliver services to General Practice. We provide a service that is bespoke to the practices we work in, meeting local population needs in line with practice requirements.
While NHSE outlines PCN pharmacists to be patient facing to attract funding for the role, PSS also offer hub services to support the management of workload in a General Practice. This flexible support can be delivered by pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, representing a cost-effective solution for the management of practice workload.
