InPractice is a medico-legal consultancy. We undertake patient safety investigations for the NHS and independent healthcare sector, teach on law and ethics and provide support and mentoring services.
InPractice was founded over 18 years ago by Kate Hill and Joanne Haswell, both lawyers.
The training course that InPractice is best known for is Investigating Incidents. We teach a Systems Based Approach referencing Root Cause Analysis tools. Our training was ‘Patient Safety Strategy’ compliant before the Strategy had even been written!
Our investigation methodology is a transferable skill that can be applied to all types of investigations: any scenario where staff are expected to gather evidence, organise it, analyse it, produce a report and make recommendations.
We practise what we teach when we conduct investigations for organisations. We know the methodology works.
One of our clients moved from continually poor gradings of their investigation reports to over 95% excellent in a 6-month period following our training.
