United by a passion for online learning and cutting-edge technology, Epigeum was founded in 2005 as a spin-out company from Imperial College London. Acquired by Oxford University Press in 2015 and later by Sage Publishing in 2023, Epigeum is a leading provider of online training courses that support the needs of higher education institutions in 3 core areas: Research, Support & Wellbeing and Studying.

Epigeum’s online courses are developed through a process of global collaboration between renowned subject experts, partner institutions and in-house specialists. Extensive research is undertaken to understand the institution’s current needs and practices, informing the development of the course aims and learning design. Every programme has a dedicated team of advisors, authors and reviewers who lead the creation of rigorous, cutting-edge content supported by our in-house product development team. They are joined by representatives from leading international universities and colleges who provide in-depth guidance on all aspects of the curriculum and its delivery, usually through an intensive workshop and an ongoing review process.

The Epigeum Support and Wellbeing programmes provide students and staff with practical skills to build a supportive higher education community. Our prevention and response programmes, Responding to Disclosures of Sexual Violence 2.0, Consent Matters 2.0, and Tackling Harassment, equip students and staff on how to best handle sexual violence and harassment on campus whilst our Being Well, Living Well toolkit and Pressure Points programme provide positive, preventative approaches to help students maintain their wellbeing. Devised by leading experts in collaboration with universities from across the world, these courses promote positive change and healthy behaviours within the university community and beyond.
