Brain in Hand is a digital self-management support system combining human and digital support for students who need help remembering things, making decisions, planning, or managing anxiety. Improving the lives of students with anxiety-related mental health difficulties and neurological difference.

Human support: Our coaches use a tailored and personalised approach, designed to enable students to use strengths-based thinking to identify achievable goals. Coaches work with the student in solution-focused, virtual personal planning sessions. They are supported to use Brain in Hand software to develop practical strategies and problem-solving skills. This helps to focus on overcoming their own specific barriers whilst at university. Coaches provide further support throughout the license period, offering review and refresher sessions to help with new challenges.

Digital support: Students have easy access to simple digital tools for organising their time, managing anxiety, and solving problems when they can’t remember what to do. Whether its managing study plans or attending lectures, travelling, talking to the people who support them, or anything else students need help with, Brain in Hand is there for them. Students will have access to a simple to use traffic light system for mood monitoring. It helps them to reflect on their progress and celebrate achievements. The traffic lights can also be linked to either a team of Brain in Hand Responders or a personal supporter of the student’s choice if a little extra help is needed.
