Will Laing is the Business Delivery Manager for Local Government in Crown Commercial Service, leading a team of 5 staff responsible for working with Local Authorities on a regional basis to ensure each gets the best possible value from one of Europe’s largest procurement aggregators.
In 2012-13 Will worked on-site at LB Camden at the request of the London Procurement Strategy Board to project manage the introduction of collaborative category management in ICT across the 33 local authorities in London, a programme now extended nationally as part of LGA’s national procurement strategy for local government, and being delivered in partnership between CCS and the Pro 5 group.
An MBA graduate of Manchester Business School, Will has an extensive managerial background in large-scale procurement transformation projects across the public sector, having led several categories in the 2004 NHS Supply Chain Excellence programme, introduced the first national agreement for Agency Nurses in 2007, and in 2008-10 worked in leadership roles in the OGC’s collaborative category management in energy and fleet.
