Vicki’s particular area of interest is psychology and it was following completion of her psychology degree that she moved into a career in social work.
During her time as a social worker she was based mainly in residential settings with teenagers and practitioner and management positions in a range of fostering services.
As part of her role working for an independent fostering agency, she developed a particular interest in the recruitment and training of foster carers which led her to become a Certified Instructor for CPI, a role she enjoyed for many years.
Her belief in the effectiveness of the MAPA programme, now Safety Intervention, in supporting positive behaviour management led to her desire to work directly for CPI – she started at CPI in May 2017.
She greatly enjoys being part of a lively team working with many organisations and individual practitioners as well as visiting the many different places that the role involves; And finally, she loves working to support positive behaviour management and restraint reduction.
