Simon became a social worker as he was drawn to a profession that worked to help people to stay safe. He has worked over years across children’s and adults services, holding key safeguarding roles. Simon began working with other local areas a number of years ago and developed opportunities to collaborate that led to him leading the ADASS Northwest Safeguarding Adults group from 2017. He has also been an active member of the ADASS National Safeguarding Adults Policy Group in that time. He has developed key practice frameworks that have supported social work safeguarding practices through working with local Universities and front line staff. Simon developed and led the initial Channel and Prevent programmes in Wirral and led the first North West of England Safeguarding policy. In his current role he continues to seek opportunities to improve our local and regional safeguarding response.
