Sarah Waller is an Associate Specialist at the Association for Dementia Studies, University of Worcester, with a particular interest in developing enabling environments for people living with dementia. She directed The King’s Fund’s award winning, internationally recognised Enhancing the Healing Environment (EHE) programme which transferred to the University of Worcester in 2015. Sarah led the Fund’s work on dementia friendly design including the development of their environmental assessment tools. She is a member of the National Dementia Action Alliance’s Dementia Friendly Hospitals Taskforce.
Sarah has worked both in nursing and human resource management in the NHS and Department of Health. She is a Trustee of CW+, the charity for Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and chairs their arts and design committee. She is a judge for the Building Better Healthcare Awards. A former NHS Trust vice chair Sarah was appointed CBE for services to nursing and the NHS.
