I support our local minds, external organisations capacity to effectively engage with marginalised groups and communities and cater for their needs in a culturally competent and inclusive way. I provide access to funding and peer support opportunities enabling them to establish stronger links to extend their reach and improve service provision.
I currently oversee 3 projects- one of which is around mental health and autism. This aims to develop a toolkit to equip professionals and mental health providers with practical tools to improve service provision for adults on the autistic spectrum. Prior to National Mind, I worked in local Mind in Newham, The Young Foundation where I sat on policy advisory panels and Guide Dogs for the Blind.
On the panel- we are going to be talking about the recent gov’t consultation paper ‘no voice unheard, no rights ignored and the importance of mental health and autistic services working together to consult with and involve adults with ASD in service design and delivery.
