Robert White joined the National Audit Office in 2014 as Director of Health Value for Money following a 25 year career in the NHS and independent sector. Educated in Canada and the UK, he worked in the Canadian Health Service prior to his financial roles in the UK. For over 8 years he was executive director of finance for Sandwell & West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust having spent the previous 5 years at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, latterly as director of finance. Robert has worked at a senior level in a health authority, large acute trusts and a combined community; mental health and learning disability provider. He sits on the HFMA Policy and Research Committee. Robert is a certified professional accountant (Cda), holds a masters degree in finance and accounting and is a bachelor of commerce.
