Ray has worked in Information Technology for 25 years after starting his career in Scientific Technical Research using digital technologies within complex medical/biological systems. Ray is currently Chief Technology Officer for Automotive and Insurance Solutions Group PLC. Over the last 10 years Ray has been instrumental in building a leading edge Information Governance, Security and Privacy infrastructure for a group of companies who lead with innovation and create exceptional product and service developments.

One of the key priorities of Ray’s leadership was the creation of outstanding data governance with a deep understanding of all aspects of data storage and management, its veracity, and the ability to know where everything is, who has access to the data and maintaining meta-data for data access history. Abstracting data from applications has become business as usual and secure private by design Object Storage has been a key strategy for over 6 years.

Prior to this innovative market leading activity, Ray was Head of Technical Services and Solutions for a multinational distributor across all vertical industry sectors with a focus on data storage, protection, replication, high availability and disaster recovery as well as virtualisation and migration strategies.

In addition to these core information management and security activities, Ray has been developing the next generation of covert asset protection technologies and fraud detection systems, overseeing telemetry data platforms, and providing expert witness representations for both Criminal and Civil prosecutions.

With organisations striving to become Digital Enterprises, the associated changes to compliance and the creation of the General Data Protection Regulation means Ray’s strategic vision and Data Centric strategy is in high demand. His skills and expertise are sought by many organisations across multiple industry sectors.
