Pinki Sahota is a Professor of Nutrition and Childhood Obesity within the Institute for Health and Wellbeing at Leeds Beckett University. She has published extensively and has a strong track record in the development, implementation and evaluation of interventions aimed at improving diet and prevention and treatment of obesity in children. She is Chair of The Association for the Study of Obesity, UK’s leading society for researchers and practitioners devoted to improving the treatment and prevention of obesity. She has contributed to the development of the Standard Evaluation Framework (SEF) for the evaluation of obesity interventions with the National Obesity Observatory. She has recently been involved in the development of commissioning guidelines for weight management programmes for the DH and has provided an Expert Testimony to inform the recent guidance on Child Weight Management Programmes. Professor Sahota has been named as one of the top 50 BME pioneers within the UK by the Health Service Journal awarded for her impact on work in the area of childhood obesity.
