Paul moved to Wirral University Teaching Hospital from his role as Managing Director of a health informatics consultancy in December 2016, where his various posts have included Chief Information Officer at University Hospital Morecambe Bay and IT programme leader for Better Care Together new care model vanguard. This model has involved innovating new ways of delivering care and is leading to the creation of a common platform for information systems. This is very much something Wirral are working hard towards around Population Health Management.
Paul has more than 35 years’ experience in health care informatics having worked in top roles at the National Programme for IT and Cheshire and Merseyside Strategic Health Authority. He also worked for 5 years for Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar for 5 years leading their strategic Informatics programme. He makes a welcome return to Wirral University Teaching Hospital, where he was formerly Director of Health Care Informatics and Wirral Health Informatics Service, bringing with him a wealth of experience.
