Nicole Allison has been a Registered Dietitian for 4 years- graduating as a mature student from Queen Margaret University in July 2013.
She joined NHS Lothian in November 2013 initially working as a Community Dietitian within North Edinburgh; during this time she completed her training as a DESMOND educator (a day long programme for individuals within NHS Lothian area who have been newly diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes co-delivered by a Dietitian and Diabetes Specialist Nurse. Within her Community role Nicole was also involved with both assessing weight management patients and delivering the Tier 3 Weight Management group programme.

Nicole later joined the NHS Lothian Weight Management Service in January 2015 specialising in this area since that time, seeing patients both within a clinical setting and also within a group environment. It is during her time with the Weight Management Service that Nicole became involved with the ‘Eat, Think, Change’ group programme which she currently co-facilitates with Sarah Tudor (Weight Management Clinical Psychologist).

More recently (January, 2017) Nicole’s post evolved, now also working within the Bariatric Service based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where her role is to prepare patients pre bariatric surgery and to support them lifelong post surgery.
