Nic leads the team responsible for transforming digital services and technology at the Department’s 19 agencies and public bodies. His role shapes the Government Digital Strategy to the context of a Department which helps keep the UK on the move. Prior to Transport he worked for the Cabinet Office. Here he was loaned to the Army to write and implement a cost-saving and multi award-winning digital recruiting strategy. He then led the ICT procurement of a ‘1Bn MoD outsourcing programme. He founded his own internet consultancy in 1995 and has since undertaken a wide variety of technology roles, including that of programmer, technical architect and head of infrastructure. Previously he had a successful career in marketing communications.
