Michael is a former College Principal and charity CEO. A Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health, he has recently led research into the importance of the early years for reducing the risk of mental ill health; and into changes in student physical health behaviour – which suggested differences between students from Generation Z and previous generations of students. He and his team are currently researching how students might be better prepared for the transition to university, to reduce the risk of mental health problems, in collaboration with King’s College London and Ulster University.
