Melanie has worked in social care for 16 years, beginning her career as an applied behaviour analysis therapist in home and school programmes with children with autism. Melanie found it fascinating learning about the science of behaviour and later worked as a behaviour practitioner with adults with learning disabilities and mental health issues in residential and supported living services.
Joining Consensus in early 2016 as a Behaviour Practitioner her role involves carrying out initial assessments of individuals joining a service and the behavioural intervention required. Melanie works closely with Managers of the service and their teams, providing dedicated support strategies and builds key relationships with external professionals and family members to ensure the very best outcomes. Melanie thrives on seeing the positive impact that she can have on teams, helping them to enhance their practice and understanding of individuals to reduce behaviours that challenge and improve an individual’s quality of life.
