Schools of Sanctuary are a network of over 340 nurseries, schools and sixth forms committed to creating a culture of welcome and belonging for people seeking safety in the UK. Awarded schools have demonstrated how they work to welcome and meet the needs of students from refugee and asylum-seeking backgrounds, whilst ensuring that everyone within the school community has learnt about forced displacement.
Megan Greenwood coordinates and oversees the development and delivery of the programme across the UK; supporting Local Leads within different communities, developing resources, organising events and offering advice and guidance to those within the network.
She has a professional background in teaching and worked within formal and non-formal education and international development in the UK and abroad. She holds a Joint Master’s Degree in Education Policies for Global Development from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and the Universities of Glasgow, Bremen and Cyprus.
