Margaret Lake is the Head of Staff Health and Wellbeing at Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University (ABMU) Health Board in Wales. As well as strategic responsibility for creating healthy workplaces, Margaret oversees all the services dedicated to supporting the health and wellbeing of the workforce. The Health Board has over 16000 staff.
Margaret works with individuals and teams to ensure that staff receive the support they need to remain healthy whilst undertaking demanding and challenging roles. Margaret also has the responsibility of taking forward initiatives to promote healthy lifestyles in order to prevent staff from developing problems with their wellbeing.
Margaret has responsibility for Occupational Health, Staff Psychology Support and Counselling, Wellbeing through Work and an ESF funded project called In Work Support.
Margaret’s career to date has been spent in public service; having worked in NHS Wales for over 10years, 3 years in Local Government and 23 years with Jobcentre Plus. Margaret has an MSc in Public Health and Partnerships in Care and is passionate about work as a social determinant of health.
