Keith has been a qualified psychiatric nurse for over 35 years and developed an interest in working with mental health and substance use whilst working as a community psychiatric nurse.
He joined the nursing department at Llanarth in 1994. He obtained a Masters degree from Birmingham University in Applied Social Learning Theory and Counselling and thereafter held several roles including Clinical Nurse Specialist working within the psychology team, Nurse Consultant (dual diagnosis), Senior Nurse, and then Director of Nursing at the hospital before being appointed Hospital Director.
In March 2015 Keith was promoted to a corporate role within PiC and became the Group Nursing Development lead. In February 2016 he became the Group Head of Nursing. Keith has been at the forefront of nursing workforce development and has recently developed a successful Preceptorship Academy for new registered nurses that join PiC. Has also been instrumental in developing a PiC Nurse revalidation module.
Keith is a member of the RCN Chatham House Nurse Executive Forum and is also a peer reviewer for Healthcare Inspectorate Wales.
