Over 20 years experience in Sport and Community Development. Having started a career in Sports Development, Julie transferred into various Social Policy/Community Development/Sporting Regeneration management roles across England working with multi agency partnerships supporting young people and communities at risk, including young people with complex needs and disabilities.

In 2004 she returned to sport development as a Senior Regional Development Manager (Children and Young People) for Sport England, before moving to the Youth Sport Trust in 2009.

As Head of Inclusion for the Youth Sport Trust, Julie is responsible for leading a highly successful team of national managers and expert practitioners whom work nationally and internationally with schools and partner organisations to directly address inequalities in participation in sport and help them achieve wider positive outcomes for underrepresented or marginalised groups of young people in and beyond educational settings.

Recent successful positive action programmes and interventions which have been led by the team across the United Kingdom have included Girls Active, Play Unified (in partnership with Special Olympics GB), YST Lead Inclusion School Network and TOP Sportsability.
