James is the Mental Health Commissioning Manager with NHS West Kent Clinical Commissioning Group and has worked across the Health Service in a variety of roles with both providers and commissioning organisations. He has a longstanding interest in mental health matters with a particular focus on the development of services and the importance of the service user at the heart of the decision making process. It was the opportunity whilst with the South West Development Centre, as part of the regional team responsible for the roll out of the IAPT – Talking Therapies programme that led to his current enthusiasm for primary care based psychological therapies and the importance of access and choice as two of the key drivers to ensure their successful delivery in practice.
