Jacqui Shurlock is the Children and Young People Lead at the Challenging Behaviour Foundation. She was previously Project Manager for the Early Intervention Project: a three year national project, funded by the Department of Health, which gathered evidence and identified best practice on early intervention for children with learning disabilities whose behaviours challenge.
Previously Jacqui led a number of policy teams at the Department for Education, including children’s centres policy, disabled children policy and Every Child Matters. She was responsible for a Board of Stakeholders to ensure regular consultation between the Children’s Minister and voluntary sector organisations and providers.
Jacqui’s first roles on graduating from her Psychology degree involved supporting young people with severe learning disabilities whose behaviours provided a significant challenge to services.
