Hannah Roy is the Governance and Membership Manager for The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. She joined the Trust in 2009, having moved from a mental health trust where she worked as the Head of Service User Involvement.
Hannah is responsible for Volunteering and Foundation Trust Membership and Engagement at the Trust and since Hannah joined SaTH, the number of volunteers has risen from less than 25 to more than 500. In this time the numbers of roles and opportunities available for volunteers has also grown, and they can now offer to do anything from helping patients with their meals to developing some of the open spaces at the Trust’s two hospitals in Shrewsbury and Telford for the benefit of patients, visitors and staff. Hannah has developed and implemented a successful Young Volunteer Scheme which has seen 91% participants to go on and study a health related subject at university.
Hannah enjoys finding innovative ways of getting the local community involved in the work of our hospitals to improve patient experience and the wider hospital environment.
