Halima is a Director of the Innovation Lab at Nesta, the UK’s innovation foundation. Halima works with innovators across public services, civil society and business to develop and scale new responses to social challenges, with a particular focus on ageing and health. She was responsible for the People Powered Health programme, which explored how people with long term conditions can live better by combining clinical and patient expertise with strong social networks. Halima holds a number of health and ageing advisory roles including at the Health Foundation and the Big Lottery Fund and has published ‘Five hours a day: systemic innovation for an ageing population’. Halima is a Trustee of Diabetes UK and has previously worked at the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit, Cabinet Office and in local government.
