Dr Jackson has over 25 years of experience working with adults and children with learning disabilities and autism. In 2004, after publishing a doctoral thesis on the psychoanalytic treatment of people with learning disabilities and complex trauma, he graduated as a chartered clinical psychologist out of the University of Sheffield. Since then he has worked clinically in the NHS in Yorkshire & The Humber and has published a variety of papers and book chapters relating to the psychological treatment of people with learning disabilities, quality and outcome measurement in healthcare settings and strategic service design in the NHS. He is currently Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Lead and Head of Learning Disability Services at South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Director of the Yorkshire & Humber Learning Disability & Autism Operational Delivery Network and is Clinical Lead for Learning Disabilities for the West Yorkshire & Harrogate Health & Care Partnership (Integrated Care System).
