Dr Karen Wright is a Clinical Psychologist who trained at the University of Oxford, before specialising in Child and Adolescent Mental Health. She worked in community CAMHS for over 13 years, before moving to her current role as Joint Clinical Lead for the HPFT CAMHS Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Service (DBT). During her time in community CAMHS Karen developed a passion for working with adolescents with emotional dysregulation difficulties and undertook specialist training DBT, setting up a small DBT service within the community CAMHS team in which she worked. In 2019, Karen moved to her current role in HPFT and together with Dr Bertha Rogers, she set up this new and innovative service for adolescents aged 13-18 years. The full programme DBT service has continued to develop and grow over the past 3 years, with Karen and Bertha at the helm.
