Dr Chris Johnston is a Government Statistical Service (GSS) statistician. After obtaining his PhD in Medical Sciences at the University of Aberdeen, Chris joined the GSS via the Civil Service Fast Stream. He has previously worked at the Department for Work and Pensions on fraud and error statistics and led the publication team for the monthly Universal Credit official statistics publication and at the Department of Health and Social Care on the weekly NHS Test and Trace statistics. He has also worked at the National Audit Office as a statistical modelling expert at Department for Education as lead on internal auditing procedures for Operational Finance.
Currently, Chris works for the Office for National Statistics as a Public Policy Analyst, leading teams on analysis relating to education, jobs and skills.
