Carl is the Deputy Director of Manchester Business School’s BP Managing Projects Programme, a flagship executive education programme delivered to BP’s senior project managers. The programme is focused on project leadership and supports BP’s aspiration to develop world leading projects and expertise. As a senior lecturer, Carl also lectures on Project Management to students across a number of Manchester Business School degree programmes.
Prior to joining Manchester Business School, Carl was Managing Director of a project-based software development company based in Liverpool. The company developed applications for Shell, English Heritage, North Wales Police, and various universities, winning a number of innovation awards along the way. Carl has directed and managed large-scale IT projects for a diverse range of organisations including Amec, National Grid, DWP, and the Home Office.
Carl is a Fellow of the Institute of Operations Management, and is a Chartered Engineer, Chartered IT Professional, and a PRINCE2 Practitioner. He is Chair of the board of governors of St Margaret’s Academy in Liverpool.
