Dr Amit Sharma is the Managing GP partner based in a large 3 site practice group in the Wokingham borough. He is a GP leader, working across different levels of the system. Amit is passionate about developing patients and staff, both clinical and non-clinical with a number of years' experience in this area including with GPs, physician associates, administrators, coders and management. He is currently GP and physician associate trainer.
Dr Sharma also seeks to develop strategic relationships to improve patient care between general practice and a wide variety of stakeholders often utilising innovations to focus those relationships. This includes in urgent care where we developed a GP supervised allied health professional clinic that was audited and researched by Oxford Academic Health Science Network. Amit is Clinical Director of the Earley + Primary Care Network (PCN) and have had several years experience as a medical director of a GP Alliance. Amit is currently the chair of Berkshire West Primary Care Networks, which is collective of 14 primary care networks working together within our Integrated Care System (ICS). Previous work includes national liaison work with NHSE representing Berkshire West as a rapid ICS adopter. Our PCN is aiming to develop at speed utilising the skills of its talented team with a particular focus on the holistic management of mental health and adoption of digital services. Amit's main clinical interests include mental health and paediatrics.
