Christine is Director of the Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities , at London South Bank University. FPLD works with people with learning disabilities and families with a focus on prevention and combating inequalities. She Previously worked for the Mental Health Foundation, as the Equalities Lead with a focus on prevention, the Institute of Applied Health and Social Policy at King's College London and worked as Deputy Chief Executive of Circles Network and as a senior manager in various organisations for over 40 years. Developed and managed many service improvement programmes in both health and social care and supported change to inclusive, person-centred services for people with learning disabilities, nationally and internationally. Promoted co-production and the involvement of self-advocates and families in all programmes. Worked internationally on deinstitutionalisation as well as managed several European programmes with European partners. She has supported the work of the Valuing People with family leadership and managing the National Advisory Group for People with Learning Disabilities and Ethnicity. Has published many articles, guides and other publications. She holds a BA Hons in Psychology, MSc in Child Psychology and a Diploma in Psychotherapy
