Chris is CEO of Sported, a charity which serves more than 3000 clubs and groups across the UK, delivering sport and activity to help young people break through disadvantage. Chris was Deputy Chair of International Inspiration, the groundbreaking Olympic & Paralympic International Development Programme. He sits on the Board of the Youth Sport Trust, and is a founder of the FRE Flyers multisports club on the Olympic Park.
Following early roles in Parliament and Higher Education, Chris worked for more than 20 years in the fields of organisation development, group facilitation, mediation, leadership development and change management across a wide range of sectors and organisations. He remains lead facilitator on UK Sport’s Elite Programme for top coaches in the World Class Performance System.
Chris chaired the Board of the UK Chip & PIN Programme, involving a broad range of stakeholders. He hosted the global Beyond Sport Summit & Awards in 2012, 2013 and 2015, and chaired the judging of the BT Sports Industry Awards in 2014 and 2015.
Chris lives in Greenwich (UK) and Nijmegen (Netherlands). He and his wife Lenneke have 3 girls and a boy (or more accurately 3 young women and 1 young man) between them. His Dutch is improving (slowly), and he also speaks fairly fluent French. He is addicted to indoor rowing.
