Andy is a Consultant Paramedic with South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. His portfolio includes working across the four-pillars of advanced practice (leadership, education, research and clinical practice), and he also leads on practice development and professional standards and contributes to the trust’s patient safety and clinical risk processes.
Andy has undertaken a secondment with the Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch as a safety investigator, working on a range of national investigations. He has gained valuable insight into systemic investigations which seek to understand better how healthcare can be made safer for patients and staff affected by errors.
He is also the Medicines and Prescribing Project Lead for the College of Paramedics, having worked alongside NHS England on the proposal to introduce independent prescribing for advanced paramedics. In his spare time, he enjoys motorsport and live music. Andy is married and has two children and lives in Mid Sussex.
