Andrea works as a New Projects Director with the Avenues Group. Avenues is a group of charities supporting 850 people through our staff team of around 2000. Most of the people supported have complex needs. Andreas current role is around setting up bespoke services for people with learning disabilities when they leave hospital or assessment and treatment units, this relatively new role has arisen due to the Transforming Care agenda. The role includes, liaising with commissioners to ensure individuals can access the right social care and health services, as well as designing and commissioning new services including the housing element.
Avenues has successfully supported a number of people to leave hospital as part of the Transforming Care agenda and is currently working in partnership to design bespoke services for people as well as developing housing options in a number of locations.
Previously Andrea has held operational roles and roles in PBS and quality Assurance as well as campaigning. Andrea’s career has focused on working with people with complex needs and the services, which they receive.
