Alison Mckenzie-Folan is Director – Deputy Chief Executive and part of the Senior Management Team at Wigan Council with strategic responsibility for a range of services including policy, strategy and transformation, revenues and benefits, customer services, ICT, public relations and HR and OD. Alison is currently leading the #digitalwigan strategy.
Previous to this role, Alison was Head of HR & OD for Wigan Council and also the Interim Director of HR and OD for NHS Ashton, Leigh and Wigan PCT. She joined local government in 2008, after a career in central government culminating in roles as Head of Finance and Deputy Director HR for the Health & Safety Executive.
She has extensive experience in business transformation and organisational development with a passion for modernising services to deliver tangible ‘business’ performance outcomes and value for money for residents and customers.
A Fellow of the CIPD she has also completed an MA in Strategic HRM, assessing “how far is the psychological contract a useful concept in devising strategies to manage the employment relationship?”
Alison has strategic responsibility for the councils transformation programmes and public service reform.
