Adam Cooper is currently a Data Scientist within Tribal, specialising in learning analytics. He has worked in Educational Technology for most of his career, in both Further and Higher Education and in the private sector. Prior to joining Tribal worked for 10 years as a member of Cetis (Centre for Educational Technology and Interoperability Standards), during which time he, and Cetis colleagues, were responsible for producing the Cetis Analytics Series of white papers. During this time he also instigated the Learning Analytics Community Exchange (LACE) project, a EC-funded international collaboration to promote knowledge exchange between research, practice, and industry. He is both an optimist about the potential for learning analytics and a cautionary voice about the potential for harm or failure if technologists, practitioners, and managers fail to be careful and humble.
