  • Bio

Steve’s work explores relationships between people, communities and place, and how these impact on our sense of self, health and wider wellbeing.

He has recently worked on NHS England’s Integrated Personal Commissioning (IPC) Programme exploring how people with dementia can be more connected to personal, social, and community resources and how connectivity is influenced by wider cultural factors. He is currently working with a housing association to improve how place-making contributes to active citizenship and a reduction in loneliness, and is working with clinical commissioning groups on understanding how people access formal and informal support for long-term health conditions.

Steve was Director of Research at the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) for six years where he led the Connected Communities programme and Whole Person Recovery programme, and has also worked on large scale community regeneration
