Petra Wilton leads CMI’s thought leadership, research and communications agenda.  She focuses on sharing practical insights that can make a real difference to managers and leaders.  Working with CMI for over 15 years, Petra has great in-depth knowledge of the trends and issues affecting managers and CMI’s 150,000 members. She has co-authored many reports and shares managers’ views with those in Government, business, education and the media.

Petra has been leading work with a 50-strong employer group, business schools and other education partners on the development and roll-out of new management apprenticeships including the team leader, operations manager, Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship and Senior Leader Master’s Degree Apprenticeship.

She has a longstanding commitment to improving diversity and inclusion, leading the launch of CMI Women and CMI Race.  She also leads on CMI’s work with young people, including publishing the “Age of Uncertainty” report with the EY Foundation.  She is a regular spokesperson on employability, apprenticeships, social mobility and workplace diversity.
