After graduating from the University of Nottingham in 2000 with a first class honours degree in Neuroscience, Laura began her career in the NHS within primary care at North Cheshire Health Authority. Since then, Laura has had a number of senior commissioning management roles working across primary, secondary and tertiary care, most recently as Head of Collaborative Commissioning for Western Cheshire PCT.
In her current role as Director of Commissioning and Transformation, Laura has responsibility for the on-going development and review of the Clinical Commissioning Group strategy and the delivery of these strategic intentions including the development of and now the programme management of delivery of the New Care Model programme the “West Cheshire Way”. To achieve this, Laura works closely with all key stakeholders across West Cheshire including the Countess of Chester NHS Foundation Trust, Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Cheshire West and Chester Local Authority, the GP Federation; Primary Care Cheshire and importantly the local population. Laura believes that the West Cheshire Way offers people in West Cheshire the opportunity to become empowered partners in the delivery of their care

Laura has recently completed a Masters in Public Administration with the Open University and is currently undertaking the Top Leaders programme with the NHS Leadership Academy. Laura is married with two young children.
