Jon Featonby is the Chief Policy Analyst at the Refugee Council, leading the organisations policy development. He has recently authored reports on how to reform the UK’s asylum system and an analysis of Home Office data regarding small boat crossings, as well as writing an impact assessment of the Illegal Migration Act.
Jon joined the Refugee Council in December 2022 after spending five years as the Policy and Advocacy Manager for Refugee and Asylum at the British Red Cross. Prior to working in the charity sector Jon worked in Parliament, including for Sarah Teather MP, who at the time was the Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Refugees.
