Jo Goodfellow is Programme Director for Healthy Wirral, which was selected as a Primary and Acute Care (PACS) Vanguard site in March 2015 following an application by the Wirral Partner organisations ( Wirral Community Trust, Cheshire Wirral Partnership, Wirral University Teaching Hospital, Wirral Council, Wirral CCG and Local Representative Committee). The ambition of the Healthy Wirral Programme is to enable people to live happier, healthier lives wherever they live on Wirral.
Jo joined the NHS as an Occupational Therapist in 1984 specialising in orthopaedics and upper limb injuries.
Jo moved into a general management role at Wirral University Teaching Hospital in 1998 and worked as Directorate Manager for Emergency and General Medicine and subsequently Surgical services. As Divisional Manager for Women’s and Children’s services she lead a major capital project to create the Wirral Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
Jo was appointed as Associate Director of Operations for the Medical Division in 2008 and she established close working relationships with colleagues in partner organisations including the Community Trust and Adult Social Care.
In October 2013 Jo was appointed Associate Director of Strategy and Partnerships leading on the annual business planning process and overall business development for the Trust. She developed and implemented the Trust’s Primary Care engagement strategy and was the acute trust representative for the Wirral Health and Social Care economy five year strategic plan, Vision 2018 which formed the bedrock for the Healthy Wirral programme.
