  • Bio

Dr. Sarah Gallacher is a Research Scientist at Intel Labs Europe. She is currently working in partnership with University College London, Imperial College London and Future Cities Catapult to create an Urban Internet of Things “Living Lab” in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London. The project aims to test IoT solutions at scale and show their potential to solve urban challenges with economic, environmental and social focus.

Previously, Sarah was a Research Associate in Computer Science at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, before moving to University College London in 2013 where she was a Senior Research Associate in Human-Computer Interaction at the Intel Collaborative Research Institute on Sustainable and Connected Cities. Recent work involves building and testing novel Internet of Things prototypes to support urban citizens as “data pro-sumers” (producers and consumers). Her work has been show-cased as interactive installations in public venues across Europe including Somerset House, The Southbank Centre, The Young Vic Theatre and the Phaenomenale (Wolfsburg, Germany) where her work was shortlisted for the 2015 Human Interface Awards.
