Dr Peter William Walsh is Senior Researcher at The Migration Observatory, and Departmental Lecturer in Migration Studies at the University of Oxford.
He has authored over forty reports and articles on UK immigration policy, and leads The Migration Observatory’s work on family migration, student migration, settlement, EU migration, irregular migration, detention, deportation, asylum, Afghan Refugee Resettlement, Ukrainian refugee migration, Channel migration, the post-Brexit immigration system, and the Hong Kong route to citizenship.
Peter is the Observatory’s spokesperson on several of these topics, and regularly gives expert interviews to major newspapers, and for television and radio.
He holds a PhD (Sociology), MPhil (Modern Society and Global Transformations), and BA (Social and Political Sciences) from the University of Cambridge.
