Joanne manages a mental health crisis service called The Sanctuary which has been part of the Crisis Care Concordat pathways for Greater Manchester. Joanne is also a Councillor representing the ward of Urmston in Trafford. She holds the Shadow Executive role for Adult Social Care and Chairs the Health Scrutiny Committee. Joanne is keen to explore innovative ways in which communities can support each other to remain well and an area she is particularly passionate about is reducing loneliness and social isolation. She sits on the Board of Trustees for Trafford Carers and the Labour Party National Policy Forum Health Commission.
