NHS Productivity: Weathering the Storm

  • Thursday, 18 September 2014
  • Manchester Conference Centre
  • 08:30 - 16:30
  • Overview

NHS Productivity: Weathering the Storm will support NHS managers and clinicians deliver acceptable levels of service within increasingly tough finances.

Figures published by the House of Commons Library suggest that NHS England costs will spiral from £95bn a year to £130bn by 2020. The NHS’ immediate financial problems look bad enough. The Kings Fund reported that 39 foundation trusts and 26 other trusts are in deficit. NICE argues that the NHS is still short of 20,000 nurses, costing £700million annually. There is also a clear focus on improving quality and delivering better care each year.

These factors will create intense pressure on managers to find new ways of organising, working and delivering efficiencies.

Through practical case studies, debate and workshops, delegates will learn about strategies, tools, techniques and innovatory approaches that will help them weather the forthcoming storm.
